I have a Big Green Egg and have always extolled the virtues of how well made the Egg is. Truly investment quality, an Egg, if properly cared for, will be an heirloom you can hand down to your kids (or grand kids). But one thing that always bothered me was the flimsy bottom vent, with nothing more than a piece of metal screen tack-welded to a piece of metal. And sure enough, about 5 years after I purchased my Egg, the screen began tearing off. The punched metal panel was the perfect solution. Fit perfectly and more economical than buying a replacement from BGE.

Bought this thermometer for my husband as a father's day gift. He had been long complaining that the original thermometer on the Big Green Egg would fog up with condensation and that the numbers were too small and hard to see (damn you, middle age!). This one has big, high contrast numbers (so big that he can see the reading from a few meters away) and doesn't fog up! Fits our grill nicely, easy to install.
